Kundalini
Kundalini Yoga derives its name through a focus on awakening Kundalini energy through regular practice of meditation, pranayama, chanting mantra and yoga asana. Called by practitioners "the yoga of awareness", it aims "to cultivate the creative spiritual potential of a human to uphold values, speak truth, and focus on the compassion and consciousness needed to serve and heal others."
Kundalini Yoga was taught from Master to student for hundreds, perhaps thousands of years. It was brought to the west in 1969 by Yogi Bhajan. Guru Rattana, who trained with Yogi Bhajan for 26 years says: “Kundalini yoga is about tapping our infinite potential. Within every human is the capacity to be outrageously creative. Within every human mind is the reality of the infinite. How do we expand our capacity and realize our divine calibre? We bring all aspects of our being- our mental faculties, our emotional energy and our physical structure into equilibrium and alignment. As we do so we open up our capacity to experience, to express, to share our infinite Self”
