Excellent. I had a hysterectomy at the end of last year and although I am fit I can’t use my abdominal muscles very much yet. I tried an intermediate class but it was too much for me at this stage. The post partum classes are perfect for me and I enjoy being able to do Pilates while recovering. I love Amit’s clear explanations. One suggestion I would make is grouping the classes per muscles they are targeting, at the moment this is just in the description and you can’t select from the drop down menu classes which target specific muscle groups.

Hi Ingrid. Thank you for your lovely comment and for sharing your experience with us! I am very happy to hear my post partum classes helped with your recovery and totally agree that it is crucial to recover properly before returning to the more challenging classes...
As for your suggestion - thanks again - we have been considering this for a long time but always decide against it because we want our classes to be "comprehensive" rather than muscle targeted... so we only add focus in the description if the teacher chose to highlight a specific area etc. I hope this makes sense
My best wishes for 2021!

This is the perfect level for me at 6 weeks post partum after a caesarian section. I didn't feel any pain at all around my scar but still felt that I was making a start back into exercising and trying to get some tone back into my abs. Loved the arm stretches too.

Hi Olivia. Thanks for your lovely comment. I am really glad to hear you enjoyed the class and that it felt like it was pitched at exactly the right level for you. I hope you'll find the time to keep taking the classes and that you'll feel great in both body and mind for taking them :) Best wishes, Amit

Hi, this is very confusing for me. I was taught to not do any forward flexion / curl ups while still having Diastasis Recti (abs separation) and instead focus on core breath aka diaphragmatic breathing recruiting the four core muscles : diaphragm, pelvic floor, multifidus and Transverse abdominus. Thanks

Hi Safiah. Thanks for your message. Different Pilates teachers use different techniques and follow different protocols so I can understand the confusion. The technique used in this class is taught by Carolyne Anthony from https://thecenterforwomensfitness.com/ in her further education courses which are recognised and recommended all over the world.
If you don't feel comfortable with this exercise or with any of the exercises, please just skip them.
I hope this helps and would be happy to answer any other questions you might have. Simply email me at amit@yoopod.com

Thank you very much Amit for your reply. I’ll skip this particular exercise for now .

You are very welcome Safiah. I hope our classes will help you feel good and energised in your body and enjoy this physically challenging period even more with your little one :)

Although I am 17 weeks postpartum, I have just discovered your site and have decided to start right from the beginning. I really enjoyed my first class with my little boy at my side. Thank you!
