This stage lays the foundations to the rest of the programme. The first two videos will help you understand how to engage your core muscles during the exercises and classes. The third video will teach you how to breathe ‘the Pilates way’ - a technique that helps keep the core muscles engaged and release tension from the back. Please play each of the videos a few times - at first just listening and observing and then trying it for yourself.
Some of these techniques may look easy, but in reality it takes time and practice to ‘master’ them. Please don’t worry if you find them hard to do at first… And don’t let it stop you from starting the classes on Stage 2 of this programme! Make sure to keep practicing and you’ll see that over time they will become more natural and beneficial to you.
