6 weeks postnatal

We hope you are feeling well and that you are getting used to your life with a new baby. Being parents ourselves we know that this period has many joys and challenges, and we also know how important it is to look after yourself and to help your body recover from the journey it has been through – the pregnancy and the birth. On this page you can watch our introduction to Postnatal Pilates video, read some useful information or scroll down straight to find the class for you.

Recognising how difficult it can be to find time to exercise when you have a new baby, we created this section of the website to help you fit exercise into your schedule. We have produced short modular classes of 20 and 30 minutes to suit your body’s current needs. The classes are designs to compliment each other so if you have more time you can simply play 2 classes one after the other.

Before you start exercising we would like to remind you a few important things:

Please get checked by your doctor and have their approval to exercise.

You should be pain free at this stage. If you suffer any ongoing back, pelvis, groin or abdominal pains or any symptoms of severe weakness of Pelvic Floor- please see your doctor or a physiotherapist that specializes in postpartum health.

We know you are looking forward to loosing pregnancy fat and restoring your figure BUT it is extremely important to allow yourself time to adjust and take the time to listen to your body.

As long as you are breastfeeding your body is producing hormones that make it less stable and more prone to strain and stress than usual.

Many women develop an abdominal separation during pregnancy and/or delivery. Such separation will affect your body in many ways and should be considered when starting an exercise program. Please watch our clip that shows you how to check for a separation to know if you have a separation and how big it is.

We hope you enjoy the classes and that they will help you feel great in your body!
